Chicago Marathon Race Packet Pick-Up Policy
As explained here, it's OK for someone else to pick up your packet for you. Here is what the Race website says:

Packet Pick-Up is located at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Health & Fitness Expo, McCormick Place. All packets must be picked up at the Health & Fitness Expo during regular Expo hours. Packets are not available for pick up the day of the event and packets will not be mailed to participants.Participants must present their Confirmation Ticket or Confirmation E-mail along with a photo ID in order to receive their Participant Packet and Participant Bag. If a participant is unable to attend the Health & Fitness Expo, someone else can pick up their Participant Packet. The person picking up a Participant Packet on behalf of a friend must present that person's Confirmation Ticket or Confirmation E-mail and that person must also present his/her own photo ID.

Avoid the hassle of race packet pickup at Navy Pier or McCormick Place with its thousands of runners, traffic jams, parking fee or cab fare. We will pick up your race packet for you!
We double-check your race bib, chip and t-shirt just like you would.
Pick up your race packet in Oak Park Saturday afternoon, the day before the race.
First packet $20, additional family members $5
